The Fear Anxiety Connection

Why do fear and anxiety play such a large part in our lives? Actually, fear and anxiety are 2 very different conditions. While fear usually is a reaction to a present threat, and triggers an escape or avoidance behavior, anxiety is the uncomfortable feelings associated with a threat that is not fully recognized or present and seems to be uncontrollable or unavoidable.

Two separate conditions with a close connection. Because these two have different meanings, what is the fear anxiety connection? It comes in the form of some of the anxiety disorders that people suffer from. Many of these disorders involve fear, either in that the fear triggers the disorder or that they fear repeat episodes of attacks associated with the disorder they suffer from.

Anxiety disorders come in many sizes. There are a number of different anxiety disorders. Most of these are disorders in a perceived threat that cannot be controlled. For example, social anxiety disorder is the fear of negative or embarrassing attention given in public. Agoraphobia is the anxiety of being in a place or situation from which it would be difficult or embarrassing to escape.

Many anxiety sufferers have found almost immediate relief during a panic anxiety attack by using a simple technique called the "One Move Method." It is a method created by an actual panic attack sufferer that has helped thousands find lasting anxiety relief.

Why do anxiety sufferers tend to experience fear? With the various disorders, we sometimes see a tendency to fear certain situations. Phobias also fall under the category of anxiety disorders. This specific type of fear arises as a result of anxiety felt in connection with a specific place, situation or thing.

Anxiety disorder can be confusing. For instance, when an anxiety disorder such as panic disorder is present, the person may not really even know what it is that they are worried about, or what it is that triggers a panic attack. This means that an attack may come on completely unexpectedly and without any sort of explanation. This sometimes leads the person who experienced the attack to associate the attack with some connection with the place or surroundings of the attack.

In a future setting, the anxiety sufferer might experience fear when she finds herself in a very similar situation to the one they were in when the attack initially hit. This can lead to avoidance of the specific place or situation or even objects or people who were nearby at the time. Eventually this fear can turn into a phobia. And thus the fear anxiety connection is complete.

There are some similarities in the methods of dealing with fear and anxiety. Awareness is key in both situations. Usually the more a person knows the easier it is for them to understand their situation and cope more rationally. In this way knowledge really is power.

Simple techniques really work wonders! Learning simple breathing techniques and also some easy relaxation techniques will be very helpful in relieving both fear and anxiety. Being aware of the methods you use naturally and replacing harmful ones with helpful ones is a good way to create less worry and stress around certain situations. This requires evaluating your own behavior and taking clear steps toward changing those behaviors to more healthy ones.
